For my 11th birthday, i had a 50's party!It was a blast! Invitataion:I got my mom's old records and wrote with a silver paint pen,the info for the party.They looked great! Clothing:I told everybody to dress up 50's style. I wore a poodle skirt,a white blouse and a black cardigan over that which i put a stick-on cursive letter initial that you can buy at craft stores. I also wore my hair in a ponytail with ribbon and i had rhinestone studded glasses.I wore bobbysocks and my mom's old saddle shoes,and pink lipstick and blush. Games:We had the movie Grease playing throughout the whole party to occupy us. We played a game where you divide into 2 teams and then you run up to a table against the person from the other team and you lick whipped creamup until you find the piece of bubble gum hidden in the whipped cream. Then, you must blow a bubble and the next person is up.We also had a hula hoop contest and a bubble blowing contest. The grease soundtrack and chubby checker played during the party. Food:For dinner we served Mcdonalds cheese burgers and frozen french fries that you bake in th oven in old time food baskets.We also had The old time red and yellow mustard and ketchup bottles.These were purchased at a restaurant supply store for very cheap.The cake was homemade and we used a grahm cracker and glued on a picture from the grease movie and stood it up on the cake.we put small plastic cars gathered around it so it looked like a drive in theater. To drink we had glass bottles of rootbeer. Decorations:We hung records from the ceiling,musical notes on the walls,and oldtime pictures of 50s stuff from the party store.We also had a checkered tablecloth.
