We had a friend that was a photographer to take pictures of my daugter in her poodle shirt and put old albums all around her.
We upload the pic to walmart and made the invitations with time, place, date and that everyone was to dress in their 50's best. I made up all the treat bags with retro toys, toy soldiers, match box cars, jacks, custom made hair bows, cat eye sun glasses, I burned each child a CD of old music( Soundtrack from Grease, lollipop, sugar sugar, etc.) I even found retro candy mary janes, candy cigs, bubble gum, etc. At the bowling alley I made prior aggangments to only play music from that era. I hade scene setters from or. trader set up all along the walls to look like a old soda shop. They all came dresse in rolled up jeans and poodle skirts. I had a station set up for pics. The children were severed in the old red and white checked baskets with hotdogs and fries. I purchased coke in the little bottles to look more like that time period. Alot of the kids had never been exposed to that time period and really loved it. After the party I had alot of parents come up and thank me for the CD they said that their kids loved listening to it in the car and that made mom happy.
