For my birthday party I had a 50's themed party. Everyone had a great time and I hope this helps everyone! I had guests arrive at 6:00 p.m. in 50's outfits (poodle skirts, collared shirts,
capris, etc.) First, we learned how to hand-jive (we had "Grease" playing in the background) Then, we went "out to dinner." I transformed my dining room into a 50's diner.
I put a red-and-white checkered table cloth on the table. Then, I covered everything modern with posters for old 50's movies and carnivals. I also made a centerpiece of a mini juke box and
made a menu with 50's prices on it. After we ate dinner, we learned 50's dance moves to 50's songs and we decorated CD cases. After that, we went to the local drive-in theater. (That was a
common pastime in the 50's.) We didn't get home until about midnight, so we went straight to bed. The next morning we woke up and went back to the "diner" for breakfast. For party
favors, I made a mix of 50's songs (with their CD cases.) I also gave them scarves, silly putty, and slinky's. Of course, we couldn't do without the ultimate party favor- candy (bazooka gum
and nik-l-nips) I hope everyone gets good ideas from this and I hope you all have an awesome 50's party!
