We love airplanes at my house. So for my sons 1st birthday we did an airplane theme. On a budget this party was a snap. We did everything in primary colors, red, green and blue. I went online
and found an airplane template, put it in Microsoft Paintbrush and filled in the colors accordingly. Going one step farther I cut and pasted a digital picture of my son in the cockpit.
Flipping the invitations over I printed all the important information. But instead of putting "where" to describe the location-I put "hangar" as in an airplane hangar. I
printed them in color and cut them out, then put them in a regular (#10) envelope with a picture of the airplane and clouds printed around our address. Then for goody bags we got white lunch
bags, printed out smaller versions of the planes, printed the childrens names and made tags for the bags. We filled them with little parachuting men that we got from the dollar store,
airplane spoons-again from the dollar store, and a few other odds and ends. We used red blue and green solid plates, napkins, forks, and a ton of baloons everywhere. The cake-now this was my
favorite part....I took a picture of the invitation to my local grocery store. They used it as a template to draw a plane on the cake in the same colors...but instead of a white background
with frilly corners, we used a blue background with no icing on the sides. The cake was so awesome.
