For my daughter's 2nd birthday we had a Mad Hatter's Tea party. Invitations- I made a whimsical green top hat like the mad hatters out of craft paper & printed out on white cardstock
a small piece with the writing to stick out of the corner of the hat which read Please don't be late for a very important date. A Mad Hatter's Tea party it's true for Gabriella Noelle is
turning two date time place rsvp Decorations- I drew & painted the decorations since they don't make any for this theme. I made a lifesize Mad Hatter, March Hare, White Rabbit, Queen of
hearts & a smaller Chesire Cat that I place in a tree which I got of a teachers supply website it was bullitin board art. I bought a wall mural which was of a forest off ebay (it was that
wallpaper type) but we just stapled it to the wall since out living/dining room wasn't painted or furnished yet we just had the party in there. Ontop of the mural I put the March hare &
Mad Hatter with a banner above from Lillian Vernon that said Happy Birthday Gabriella. In front of the mural & put the long folding table with a pink table cloth & at the head of the
table I put a big red armchair we had. Above the table I hung polka dot paper lanterns & tea party decorations. I scattered polka dot hats all over the table that I got off the
Oriental Trading Co. Favors- I made green top hats & personalized tags on each along with small wooden teacups from Michaels on them. The inside of the tags read, "Thank you for sharing my 2nd birthday with me & a very merry unbirthday to you." As the kids favors I ordered tea set boxes from birthdayexpress.com that came with small tea cups, notebooks, pearls, etc. & I printed on the computer each childs name & glues to the front of each box.I also ordered small teacups for the kids & bigger ones for the adults. the kids drank iced tea decaf made with Splenda Cake- we had it made it was a 3D Teapot. Lastly I made a teabox out of an antique tea box some foamboard as the dividers that I tops with ribbon I printed on cardstock a list of all the teas with a picture of the "Mad Hatters Tea Party of top of the list." We had a Great Time!
