ALPHABET PARTY
for younger children. Through the course of the party, the group must do an activity starting with every letter of the alphabet. Only a few of the activities are detailed. Most are easy, like D for dance, E for eat, and F for fun. Keep a big poster and mark all the things you have done. You may want to keep a few ringers tucked away, like a child's xylophone and something with a zipper, for harder letters. For Q you can have a queen's crown or just ask them to do something Quickly. Alphabet picture books make good prizes. If you can find alphabet cookie cutters, you can also use them for Jell-O jigglers (a good J source, but so is Jumping). Alphabet cereal mixed with pretzel sticks is an easy snack. Color alphabet pasta and use it to glue message to paper (A for art). Once you start thinking about the theme, you'll find all sorts of things with ABC's on them.
