For my daughter Blakeley's first birthday I chose to run wild with the letter "B"! The invitations went out decorated with little buds (rosebuds) and read: Blakeley's Birthday
Brunch. We planned the party for 9:30 am b/c that was a great time of day for the birthday girl! (who wants a sleepy guest of honor?) All of the foods that we served began with
the letter "B". For instance- biscuits and blackberry jam, bacon, breakfast casserole, banana muffins, and of course birthday cake (yep- even though it was in the
morning). The plates and napkins were decorated with butterflies.
The table was covered with small chocolates that I found wrapped like beetles, bees and other sorts of friendly bugs. Bears, balloons, and books graced all available space. Most of the guests even brought gifts beginning with the letter "B". Blakeley wore a dress with little rosebuds that matched the invitations. The party favors began with (you guessed it) the letter "B". I used yellow bags and painted black stripes on them and used a bee stamp to make nametags, tying it all together with a black and white polkadot bow! The bag held bouncing balls, Butterfingers, Beauty and the Beast chocolate bars, bubbles, and bubble gum.
