Ok I'm not gonna bore you with a long speach or anythig so-- Hope you like my idea!! INVITES: We made an Amazing Race Logo only it said The Amazing Birthday Race" you're invited to so and so's birhtday w/ time place etc. printed it on yellow cardsotck. We also said that we are looking for parents to be "taxi drivers" and "supervisors". I invited 12 girls PLUS me but only 8 could come MINUS me. We had 3 teams of 2 adn 1 team of 3. Everbody got pieces of colored cloth to match their team. Each team got a bag w/ pencils paper a snack and LOTS of water (this was in Late June)our first clue told us to go to the local thrift shop (about a 4 min walk) when there find a 'clue box' and read the clue within. each team gets ONE clue. we were assigned a room in the trift shop books toys kids clothes adult clothes etc. and had to search for a ticket hidden in the room after we had found it we gave it to the thrift shop manager to get our next clue! We had to get in a 'taxi' and drive to the art center about 10 miles away. once there we had a chice between tracing and painting our teammate on a BIG blank wall or paintin a DIFFERENT wall with a special method and design. every body but one team did the trace and paiting thigy majig. once we were finished we got another clue from the art center helper that told us to run over to teh post-office (1/4 mi. away) and find our next clue. 2 teams got lost and were late. the next clue (fromt eh post-office) told us to go to the library ( just down the road) and we would get a clue there. We got a slip of paper with a dewey decimal number on it. we had to look it up find the book and take another slip of paper from it and look up the NEXT book! after about 5 or 6 books when we had all the slips of paper(all the books were 'birthday' themed) after that we got ANOTHER clue with a message telling us to go to this balloon store near my house. we went there got a clue that we had to decifer. it basically said go to the pit-stop. (my house) we all ran home to a big thing with the mat "Phil" (my little bro) people to cheer us on adn my little sis to welcome us! I got second (but only because the people who got first cheated but nobody was watching so they got away with it!!) anyways we lined up 1st thru last place and each team member got to choose a prize candy and free movie rental pass lipgloss nail-polish earings bath-stuff etc. then we had cake and presents we played "knot" and "telephone" and even tried some octopus/squid for a prize!! we had hamburgers chips and hotdogs that's it!!"
