American Girl Party. 10 year old. For my Goddaughter's 10th birthday I threw her an American Girl party. She had two American Girl dolls, Molly and Samantha, so I focused the theme
on them. Molly is from WWII time so I decorated the living room with a patriot theme. Red, white and blue streamers, american flags and a sign that said; Molly's World WWII.
Samantha is from the early 1900's so I decorated the kitchen in a Victorian theme. The table had a pink tablecloth, plates and cups. I used white "fancy" paper napkins and paper lace dollies. The room was decorated with white and pink streamers and balloons and had a sign that read "Samantha's Victorian Age." It was decorated with pictures of teacups and flowers. For the food we had hotdogs to represent Molly's time and lemonade for Sam's. We had two cakes; a homemade chooclate like Molly would of had and 10 petit fours like Samantha would of had. For a crafts project we had the girls make haiwian lais by stringing together colorful balls of crushed up tissue paper. (We did this because American entered WWII when Japan attacked pearl harbor.) For games: We had two representing Molly's time and two for Samantha. For Samantha we played hunt for the Teddy bear. (The teddy bear was named after the president in Sam's time Teddy Roosevelt.) And we had a rely with hoops and sticks. For Molly we played pin the tail on the donkey and drop the clothespins in the jar. For favors: we had tootsie rolls, lifesavers (Both candies that have been around since the early 1900's.) a bottle of bubbles for Molly's time and a kit of watercolor paints for Samantha. The party lasted for three hours and didn't cost that much money. The girls had a wonderful time.
