My daughter just turned 10 and is very into American Girl Dolls and "Coconut the Dog" an American Girl's Best Friend, so we had a "Coconut" party that she had been planning
all year. The invitations were printed on our computer using American Girl graphics from their website. "Come join Coconut for cookies, cupcakes & fun", read the
invites. At Hallmarks stores I found a Coconut cookie cutter set with a flower and a heart shaped cookie cutter with a Coconut cookie mold.
When the girls arrived we made shortbread cookies with the cookie mold and then rolled out gingerbread cookies and used the heart shaped and flower cookie cutters. (I made the cookie doughs the day before) While the cookies were baking the girls made their own pink or purple lip glosses from a kit I found at Oriental Trading.com and decorated the containers with a Coconut sticker, also from Hallmark. After the cookies finished cooling the girls took a break from dancing and decorated the cookies with purple icing in ziplock baggies with the tip cut off. We ended with cupcakes for everyone, even Coconut had one from her "Happy Birthday Coconut" set from American Girl. Each girl went home with a purple paper bag with handles that we had glued a cut out of Coconut on. The girls got their own set of cookie cutters to take home along with a Coconut bookmark and mini photo album. (from Hallmark too!) Megan had a great time and so did her friends.
