Sorry for the inconvenience -- below is a resubmission...  American Idol Party  For my daughter's 7th birthday, since she loves to sing and perform, I threw her an American Idol party.  I set up a stage on my fireplace hearth using a large white sheet, white Christmas lights, and an extra large American Idol logo, which I'd downloaded and printed.  I decorated the house with blue and white balloons and silver stars that I hung from the ceilings with thread.  Upon arrival, the girls were greeted by a printed sign on the door that read, Welcome American Idol contestants. At the entrance, I had a check-in table at which each girl signed their name on a clipboard and was given a contestant number to wear (just like the one on the show). Then they went to 3 stations: Contestant Hair (with lots of glitter spray), Contestant Makeup (more glitter), and Contestant Wardrobe (lots and lots of dress up clothes and accessories like feather boas, hats, and sunglasses.) After getting dolled up, we set up contestant photo shoots on the stage. Each girl posed with a microphone in front of the giant logo.  Throughout the party, I had the American Idol theme music from the show playing on a loop (I downloaded it onto a CD). After that, they chose their karaoke song  lot of favorites like High School Musical, Hillary Duff, and Cheetah Girls. I called each contestant number randomly, and one by one the girls performed.  There was no judging, only applause for everyone. While the girls were performing (and unknown to them) I printed out the contestant photos I had taken and put each one in a clear acrylic frame. I set up all the frames on a table with lots of colorful peel-and-stick foam stars.  When the performances were over, the girls were very surprised to see the table of photos.  Then they got to decorate their frames. They loved it. After pizza and cake we played two games: Pin the Microphone on the Pop Star (which I made using computer clip art) and Pass the Microphone (just like Hot Potato but with a giant inflatable microphone).  Each girl took home her framed photo and a goody bag filled with inflatable microphones, glitter gel, and costume jewelry.
