We are doing a GI Joe party. We incorperated some ideas we have gotten here and some original ones too! We are doing the party at a rented pavilion at a park.
We have cammo netting ( hubby is a hunter) and we are going to drape that at the one end of the pavilion. I have black and green table cloths too. Plus some GI Joe ones I picked up on clearence. I am using a tank and airplane as table decoration. The cake was very easy to make. I have three colors, green and black, and then used choclate icing as the third. I made a camo pattern cake out of that.I am using toy soldiers to decorate the cake, and in the bag came a flag. I took the sticker off the lag and made my own saying " Happy birthday". The really fun thing is that my sisters birthday is the same day as my sons party. I made her a GI Jane cake using blue, pink and peach frosting. I bought camo material last year when we did the same party idea, and made homemade gift bags with drawstrings. I filled them with army men, the mothers loved the idea of keeping them toghter in the bag. This year I ran out of time and bought GI Joe bags. I asked everyone to come in camoflage! Games include pin the helmet on the solider, made out of poster board. We are doing special mission papers to find their loot bags. My hubby is going to dress up and have the kids run through the park doing cadienc"your left ,left , left right left." As for food, brats, hotdogs and a variety of salads are it. When my hubby and I were in the army we hade normal meals. We thought about ordering mre's for the kids, but are expensive and not very tasty. I am going to buy green punch though thought it would add to the color theme.
