This weekend me and 5 fiends will be have a create a magazine party. For invitations i bought birthday stationary and filled the printer tray with it, i then created a invitation on microsoft word according to where the border was. i included who, what, where and a note at the bottem indicating the guests to bring any pictures of them and/or friends and old magazines they were willing to cut up. A good day to hold this party is on sunday because you have all saturday to decorate and finish last minute shopping.(only three hours long, 12:00 to 3:00) The day before: A good room is the dining room. You can get most of the following supplies at a dollar store: A plastic table cloth, ballons, banners/streamers and plastic plates, cups, forks etc. and all craft supplies, wich include different colored book covers, used to protect books, foam sheets, hot glue gun, scissors gel pens, and school notebooks. Basically your guests will be creating a party magazine themed around there likes and the fun they had at the party including digital photos uploaded into my computer then printed. A good idea is to make birthday quizzes, mad gibs, horoscopes, and a party page(details later), theres one page of each for every girl coming. Setup all the craft supplies on the table about thirty minutes before the guests begin to arrive. The most impotant part is pre- party, covering school exercise books in colored book cover then allowing the guests to glue on the magazine title on the front, features of the magazine and pictures of the real celebritis, your friends! When your guests arrive lead them into the party room, then introduce the idea of creating a party themed magazine. Tell them about the cover and what goes on it, on the inside cover they should create a content page on a peice of paper then glue it in, and the pages you pre made on the computer for them to glue on to pages. Then getting to the party page. Before the party set-up a white sheet hanging from the ceiling along one entire wall. Before starting the magazine, tke the girls to the wall and have each of them pose individually in front of the white wall then hand over the DIGITAL camera an have somene take a picture of you. Then get a parent/orgaurdian to take a picture of all of you together. Then while you and your girls start decorating their magazines have a parent upload the photos onto your computer and print them out, and make sure each girl gets a copy of the group photo and a copy of all the individuals. then to create a party page have each girl glue the group photo on one page and all the individual photos on the other page. Beside each individual picture write the most likely to become... most likely to have___partys(insert a # in the blank)most creative/sporty/girly etc. Then glue precut pictures of balloons beside the group photos and Precut stars beside each individual and then decorate the pges the way you please. Hve each girl write fun articles and cut photos from magazines and glue them into thiers mabye even devoting one page to a celebrity collage... That should only take about an hour and a half although i can promise you none of the gils will finish they can use the blank pages as a diary or a scrapbook or continue to add in articles about partys they've been to creating a party page for each. Then the other hour and a half you can devote to pizza, cake and presents. The lootbags should be given to the girls as they arrive in case they forgot magazines or photos. Lootbags: Magazine(one for each girl), a compact mirror, some lipgloss or makeup depending on how into makeup the girl is and a few candys, gum etc. Your soon to be teen will thoroughly enjoy this party! And remember to keep it small and to friends that get along so they can really bond and have a memoriable day!
