ART Party  This party was for my son who was turning five. He loves drawing so we went with an Art Party. We used all primary colors for the decorations and party goods. The invitations had a print of a child painted picture on it and told the guests to come in old clothes. As the children arrived they sat down to color a pre-printed birthday themed picture as they took turns getting their faces 'painted'. After their pictures were finished and everyone had their face painted our next craft was foam place mats. I bought sheets of foam from the craft store and we used the adhesive pieces of foam in all sorts of themes ( dinosaurs, trucks, flowers) for both the boys and girls present. Then each child was given the bread for their sandwich to paint on. We used food coloring in milk and brand new brushes! When their bread was painted ( pre label their plates so children's bread doesn't get mixed up), they went outside to paint a mural. I had a huge roll of butcher paper tacked to our fence in the backyard. They used poster paints and sponge brushes and had a ball!By the time they completed the master piece, they came in for lunch and saw how their bread painted turned out once toasted. After their lunch they got to decorate their own cupcake with all sorts of sprinkles.  I also made a palette cake to put the candles on to sing Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. After cake , we played the Crayon Drop game. I decorated two large cans, cut a slit in the lid and they had to drop the crayon in the hole. They kept trying over and over and then had races as well. After presents, we had an award presentation for their marvelous artwork and gave everyone a paint can ( found at Home Depot) filled with markers, pencil topper kits, and paint brush candy. Plus they took home their placemats, artwork and award. It a very hectic but fun filled party!
