Art Gallery Birthday Party Our son was a budding artist of the month in his first-grade class this year. This, and his art teacher, have inspired him.
His current ambition is to paint like Van Gogh. For his birthday this year he wants to have an "Art Gallery Party." He is working on the pictures that he will be exhibiting. They will be the primary decorations for the party. INVITATIONS His invitations are to the ART GALLERY for the showing of THOM'S BIRTHDAY ART...He is making the invitations, too. CAKE I found a cake that is the shape of an artist's pallet, complete with licorice/fruit-by-the-foot paint brush at Family.com. It will be very easy to duplicate. PARTY FAVORS The party favors are water paints, brushes, crayons, tiny coloring books, etc. The children will be able to use them during the party, instead of having "party games." OTHER ITEMS We are going to look for paperware, balloons, and streamers that are "artsy." But if we can't find them, we will just buy solid colors...green, blue, red, yellow, purple, and orange. Colors to match the "paint" on the cake. CLASS PARTY We traditionally only have family members and one friend at our birthday parties. So, for his friends at school, we are taking cupcakes frosted white with blobs of different colors of "paint" in the center of each one. Each child will also get a "paint brush" made of licorice/fruit-by-the-foot.(Brushes can be found on Family.com) I hope that anyone with a little artist in their family, will enjoy these ideas...I would appreciate ideas relating to this theme, as well. Thank you!
