The picture party Name: "A Day to Remember" a party for Sofia For my daughters' 6th birthday party we had an amazing time. The theme came when I stumbled upon a frame-making kit at
"The Learning Express". She had such a fun time decorating her own frames(2 in the box). For her party I purchased 12 Polaroid cameras(pink and purple). With glitter stickers I
placed their names on the side of the camera and that was their party favor, along with the frame kit and a small photo album($1.00). I set up five rooms with different novelties. One room
had a beach theme, another had a cowgirl theme, another had a princess theme, another had a monster theme and the last room was filled with balloons, colorful ribbon and huge wrapped boxes
that resembled gifts(The party room). On the invitation it named the themes and asked to bring clothes to match each theme so that the pictures could be taken, it also asked the parents to
bring 1 set of Polaroid film. When the girls arrived they voted on where they would go first, second....ETC. They had a blast, The first set of Polaroid's we purchased and I took the novelty
pictures, the second set, the kids brought they took whatever pictures they wanted. After the pictures were all taken, we sat at the table and had cake, it had a camera in the corner and the
cake artist put a picture of my daughter on the rest of it(we sent the picture and he re-created it). It was so much fun!!! I asked on the invitation that no gifts be brought, because I had
already asked them to purchase film and to bring dress-up clothes... After the cake we turned on some music and started to make the frames, while the pictures were being sorted. The girls
were having such a good time. When they were done my husband called the girls one at a time and they picked one picture to put in the purple frame. When that was all done, we frantically
re-loaded their cameras with the second film and let the girls take pictures of each other and of anything else they wanted. While the girls were doing this, My husband and I took pictures of
them, in novelty areas and of each other(groupPics.). When they had used up all that film my husband, again called them one by one and they picked one picture to put in the pink frame. When
that was all done, I brought out small photo albums that I found at the dollar store and I also placed their names at the front of them and decorated it. I passed out the photo albums and the
girls sat at the table and arranged them the way they wanted.. It was so memorable and fun, each girl has their own memory of my daughters party...It was "A Day to
Remember"!!!!!!! a week after the party we had gotten the pictures back that my husband and I took and I sat with Sofia and we made a photo album of her 6th birthday, when the book
was fully complete(about 7 weeks) I called all the girls and asked them to come back. They came over for a sleepover, and also to look at the photo album and watch the home video of the
party, they loved it. The next day, before they left I(secretly) had each one of the girls sign the last page of the book and write a little message to Sofia, that was her birthday gift from
her best friends.
