We did this last year for my 9 year olds party. I got cheap ceramic plates at K-mart (corelle I think). I went to the local art supply store and got all of the pre and post preparation for
decorating a ceramic plate as well as the special paints. I prepared all the plates ahead of time. I put out small bathroom size dixie cups at each setting and asked each girl what color she
wanted. I bought several cheap paint brushes and had several large cups of water on the table. After they got done with one color, they just put the paint brush in the water and then went on
to a new color with a new paint brush. After all were done, my husband and sister glazed the plates while we went on to the next activity. They were pretty much dry and ready to go when the
party was over. They could not use them for 48 hours I think so I taped a little note on the back of each plate for the parents to see so the dishes wouldn't get used before then. Was lots of
fun and they got to take home a cool party favor. Have fun!
