I wanted a theme for my party, and I decided to do a backwards one. It was two years ago and people are STILL talking about it, so I decided to share my ideas. INVITATIONS: I typed my invites using Word on the computer. I used the standard Who, What, When, Why, but added that they should dress backwards and inside out. When I went to print off the invitation, I clicked on the button 'Options' and selected mirror image and upside down. The only way to read the invitation was to hold it up in front of a mirror. I wrote the addresses on the back of the envelope instead on the front because the postman said it was all right. DECORATIONS: I blew up balloons and then waited a couple days until they stopped floating right side up and hung them from out front porch. On the inside, we let the streamers hang down from the ceiling and we balanced the kitchen chairs on top of the table. ACTIVITIES/GAMES: After the guests arrived, we played a game called Sardines, which is the backwards version of Hide and Go Seek. In it, the host hides and when the guests find him/her they join them in hiding. The last person to find them is It. Next we plade the opposite of charades. You write a word or phrase on a piece if paper and tape it to one of the guest's back. Then the rest of the guests have to act out the word and the first person has to guess what it is. We then made pinatas by blowing up ballons and putting out a huge bowl of candy and tape. The guests made their own pinatas by taping candy to the outside of the balloons. FOOD: Of course, we had cake before lunch. We split the guests into four groups and let them decorate their own cakes (which were upside down) with frosting, sprinkles, and other candies. We ate the cakes under the table instead of at the table, and then we made started making lunch. We made pizzas with dough we bought at the grocery store. They tasted really good, better than store bought, and the guests could eat their pizza slices backwards (crust first). EXTRA: We then popped our pinatas and took pictures hanging upside down on the couch. FAVORS: The guests got their pinatas, a photo, cake to bring home, and some inexpensive dollar store things.   It was a really fun party to plan and all of my guests had a blast. I hope you have fun if you have backwards party! Remember, Sdrawkcab is best!
