For my son's 7th birthday we had a Backwards party. We sent out invitations that I just printed on my computer. When it came time to print I chose the mirror image option which
made everything backwards.
We asked each guest to come dressed backwards. The party itself seemed to require more planning than usual. We greeted everyone with good-byes and used the same backwards lingo thoughout the party. The events were all backwards as well. The goody bags came first. They were actually wrapped presents that my son handed to each guest qas they sat around in a circle. Each present(was tagged with backwards name) had a t-shirt which we had ironed their names spelled backwards and the number 7 on the back , silly putty and the bubbles that are plastic that you blow up with a straw there was also a Nerds rope candy. The kids thought this was cool. They all changed into their new shirts. As the party went on my husband went around and took pictures of each guest with the birthday boy. We attatched these poloroids to the thank you cards that were already printed and sent each guest home with them. Next we did cake( I had a printed copy of the words to happy birthday backwards). We played pin the donkey on the tail guess how many jelly beans(the person farthest from the correct answer was the winner)and backwards charades(we put a picture on the backs of the contestant and the rest of the guests had to act out the picture.) We had Horsedouvers for lunch, Pigs in a blanket and pizza bagels. We had a lot of guests(big family) so be put a tablecloth on the ground and set it just like a table the kids like this too. The preparation was key to the party running smoothly. Every game had the children's name(backwards) on a label. I was lucky to find many things I needed at the dollar store. This party was so much fun to plan and participate in.
