Barbie Princess Party  My daughter turned 3 years old and really loves Barbie. I decided on a Princess theme using our full size basement. Here are the list of items: GAMES: Pin-the-crown on Barbie Prince / Princess dress up Barbie's Treasure Hunt  FOOD Cake purhased from Krogers Hot Dogs, chips, dip and veggies Soda, Juice & Pink Punch Barbie Princess plates & napkins purple cups & plastic utensils  DECORATIONS Poster Board - 2 pieces 1 Bag Pink balloons / 1 Bag Purple balloons 1 roll pink streamers / 1 roll purple streamers 3 yards pink tulle / 3 yeards purple tulle 2 pink plastic table covers  GOODIES Barbie princess goody bags Barbie princess noise makers 1 bag bubble gum Barbie princess stickers Digital camera (to take thank you pics later)  SPECIAL SOMETHING 1 local teenage willing to dress up fancy and play princess Barbie Invitations I found a picture on Barbie website of a castle in a country side. I used a word document and made homemade invitations with the castle picture on the front and in the background on the inside. I bought colored invitation envelopes and mailed each one out from Princess Lexi to the appropriate Prince or Princess. I used pink & purple streamers and criss crossed them in a twisted fashion across the ceiling.  I bought pink & purple sheer tulle and hung it from the ceiling from corner to the middle of the room as well. In the middle of the ceiling I made a balloon candalier. This was made with 4 balloons (2 pink, 2 purple) at top, then 3 balloons in the middle section (2 pink 1 purple) and 1 on the bottom (1 purple balloon) with pink and purple streamers holding it from ceiling.  My Husband & colored a picture of Barbie Rapunzel from a website picture, and put it onto poster board. He used colored pencils so Barbie was in a pastel tone. This picture was Barbie from the waist up, in her Rapunzel dress, leaving off her crown. The poster board was taped to a wall. I made a gold colored crown from seperate poster board and put 2-sided tape on it. This makes a pin the crown on Barbie game.  We purchased the cake from our local Kroger store with the Barbie theme - pink &purple in color with a princess Barbie on top. I used pink plastic table clothes for the tables and covered in red heart and silver star sprinkles. I made pink punch with rasberry sherbet icecream, sprite, and ginger ale. I purchased from a partystore the princess Barbie plates, and napkins. I used purple cups. I put a large plastic clothes basket in a corner and filled it with princess & prince dress up items.  Plastic bead necklaces, rings, & plastic crowns, dress up shoes (already had these - can be purchased from wal-mart. WE had collected dresses over 2 years from halloween, and purchased a dress up kit one year from ltd commodities. I also had a dragon costume, and crowns and swords for the boys.  All kids got to dress up for the party (thereby keeping their clothes clean!).   I bought a small helium tank from wal-mart and put pink & purple balloons on the ceiling, also put outside front doors and at the end of the drive to mark the house.  I made a box shaped treasure chest out of poster board, painted it brown with hinges and a lock - and filled it with bubblegum, noise makers, and plastic necklaces and rings and hid it under the gift table. We asked a friend of the family to dress up as Barbie.  This girl really did the job. She was tall and blonde anyways, but wore a lavender dress ( a previous homecoming dress) and a small tiara. My daughter went nuts to see her - She commanded the pin-the-crown game, the dress up game and the treasure hunt. For the treasure hunt she told the kids a dragon came and took her treasure from the castle and hid it in the room (basement). They should all look for it and once found, they got to have the prizes inside.  The kids looked everywhere and once found Babie and the kids opened the box and got the prizes. The kids were so excitd she was there they were well behaved. Afterwards we had cake and everyone got a digital pic with Barbie which was mailed or hand delivered to them the next week as a thank you for coming note from Barbie & Lexi.  She will really never forget that party - and neither will I.
