For my son Daniel 1st birthday I decided on a barnyard theme. I first started with the invites which I found paper with a barn scene on it. Then on the computer I put you're invited! come join
"Old McDaniel" and his barnyard friends with food, fun, and games. Be sure to come in your barnyard best! We had rented a cabin at a park and held it there since there were about 100
guests. For the tables I used red and white checkered picnic table cloths on the tables I had old fashioned glass milk bottles with daisys in them and I wrapped classic red bandannas around
the neck. I used western hats upside down with red bandannas lining them to hold pretzels. For the food we had fried chicken, hot links, baked beans, corn on the cobb, and several different
salads, also for the kids we had corn dogs, a bag of chips, and a chocolate chip cookie. we bought a few bails of straw a couple we used for seating in a picture area we set up where we made
two scarecrows and had plastic blown up farm animals. That was a definite hit. The other bails of straw we opened up and scattered for the barnyard effect. For games we played dress-up relay,
three legged race, musical chairs, and also a pinata in the shape of a rooster. For goodie bags we had crayons, animal toys, kazoos, bouncy balls, and candy. We also got pictures of barn
animals in black and white and made a coloring book for the cover we made a color page where we had a barn background and a farmer cartoon style then we put my sons picture for the farmers
face the top of the page said "Old McDaniel Had A Farm..." the last page said "thank you for being my barnyard buddy on this special day". For the adults, I had taken a
picture of my son in western attire and background, I made slightly bigger than business card size cards with that picture on it.It had a western border with a lasso, in the lasso it said
"Thank You for celebrating my 1st birthday with me" with his name and date I laminated the card and made them into magnets. People really loved it, and its so nice to see that
people do have it up on their refrigerators. I almost forgot the cake it was an actual barn and it had animals all ettible my friend makes cakes and really out did herself. This party turned
out better than I expected and people are still talking about it. We all had so much fun!
