For my daughters 1st birthday, we decided to do a lamb theme. Her birthday is 2 days before Christmas so we based our party on the book "Little Lambs Christmas" which tells the
Christmas Story of Jesus and little lamb.
I searched high and low for lamb party supplies, and found none. I did find lamb baby shower invitations, plates, cups, and napkins online at Birthday in a Box, and have seen it more recently at Party City (they did not say baby shower, so they worked for the birthday party). We had a live nativity scene as the guests arrived, and then Mary and Joseph came inside to read "Little Lambs Christmas" to the children. I also ordered lamb Christmas ornament crafts for the kids to make, from Oriental Trading Company (they have other lamb crafts especially at Easter, for those of you that do not have Christmas babies). We used stuffed animal lambs for decorations. The cake was three tiered, decorated with the Precious Moments 1st birthday lamb, and the Snow Baby lamb (These will be keepsakes for my daughter). You could also use the lamb cake pan by Wiltons. I also made lamb mints, using mint molds from Bakers Kitchen. I sewed goody bags from lamb fabric that I found at Wal-mart. I put a variety of items in the bag, including little lamb keychains that I ordered from Oriental Trading. A friend of ours even made our daughter a rocking lamb. The lamb theme turned out precious, it is such a special memory. Since doing this party, I have seen a wide variety of lamb items. Easter is the best time to find lamb items.
