Barnyard First Birthday Bash.  For my daughters 1st birthday we went with a barnyard theme.  We made invitations of a barn with the door cut to fold open showing place, time, date and ect..  We had alot of different decorations. We used some stuffed farm animals that my children already had to help decorate inside along with a little peoples farm that we sat on a table, balloons, streamers, and some pictures of farm animals that we colored and cut out after we printed off the internet were also used in side. In the front yard we had a cow, and frog balloon hanging on the mailbox, streamers in the trees, balloons around the front yard tied to sticks and a scarecrow sitting next to a sign that said Happy 1st Birthday. We had most of the party in our backyard . We built a barn out of plywood, sat hay bails, a little John Deer tractor that my son had, scarecrow, pumpkins, indian corn, and some blow up beach ball farm animals (purchased through oriental trading) in front of the barn.  We took a picture of each kid in front of the barn sitting on the tractor wearing straw hats that were given for birthday hats. We had a little duck pond next to the barn that we used to play one of the games.  We put out alot of balloons, streamers, and sat around the rest of the beachball farm animals around in the yard.  We made a garden by using dried corn stalks , sticking them in the sand, placing pumkins around and sticking a scarecrow in the middle of our sand box. We had a checkered table cloth on the table outside and 1st birthday farm animal table cloth on the table inside with the food(bought from birthday express along with napkins, party bags, blowers, mobile, and a bib with the same theme).  We played three games.  Of course we had pin the tail on the donkey, then we had duck fishing- we took plastic ducks, wrapped a pipe cleaner around their neck to make a loop and wrote numbers on the bottom. The kids would take a plastic fishing pole and try to catch one of the ducks. Who ever caught the duck with the highest number won. The third game we had was an animal race- this game we bought wind up farm animals (bought from oriental  trading) and let the kids race their animals down a piece of board. Which ever one went further won. Also for entertainment we hooked up the trailer to our riding lawnmower, put hay in it and had our own hay ride. The kids couldn't get enough of that.  For food we had cake, chicken nuggets, goldfish crakers, candy corn, birdnest rice krispy cookies with marshmellows in them for eggs, jello jiggler pink pigs, and pig suckers (the jigglers and suckers were made from pig molds purchased from the internet). We had a 5 inch cake for my daughter to have by herself to play in and eat. Most of it went up her nose instead of her stomach but she had fun and did not want us to take it away from her. We gave all the kids goodie bags that had farm stickers, duck bubbles, animal stampers, sunglasses and cow tail cany in them.  We also let each kid take home a balloon, pumpkin, and one of the beachball animals. Everyone had so much fun especially the birthday girl! My best friends son told her that we knew how to throw a party.
