Barnyard Fun! (2 yrs old)
You never know about the weather in Texas, so at the last minute, I moved my two year old son's party to the Equestrian Center in our neighborhood. I have horses at the stables, so it was not a problem to have the party there. The theme was "Barnyard Animals." I had a petting zoo come with a pony. They set up under the covered arena, which was great, because it rained and we didn't get wet! The petting zoo pen was in the center and I set up the tables on the end. I bought lots of vinyl animals (from Oriental Trading) to set up on the table and used my son's Fisher Price Barnyard as a centerpiece. I brought stuffed animals that were barnyard related and set them around too. I tied star balloons on the chairs and used all the barnyard themed plates, napkins, party hats, and blowers on the table. I used bales of hay for the presents to be set on. It made a cute back drop. I used a horse trough for the drinks. (not really used for any animals) I had an adorable cake from a local bakery that did a barnyard scene on it. We also had pizza delivered before the cake and ice cream. I bought a Polaroid camera and took each child's picture on the pony. For the goody bags, I stuffed each bag with hay and put vinyl animals in the bag and tied them up with raffia. It was a great time! I loved the petting zoo, because it kept the kids all together and we didn't have to play any games, because of all the food and fun! Until next year........
