My daughter turned three and we decided to have a barnyard party for her. I ordered the invitations pre-printed from birthdayinabox.com, they were adorable. We asked everyone to come dressed in farm attire and they did. This really added to the theme of the party. It was so adorable. We decorated outside with lots and lots of balloons as well as inside. I made a barn out of a big box, painted it red and hand painted butterflies, cows, pigs, etc..everyone loved it. I even decorated the inside with animals. The kids loved it. I made little cows and miniature farms for decoration and put them all around the house. The adults were surpassed at how creative I was. I put hay all around the barn and on the side I made a piggy coral. I hung rope and from the rope I hung pink balloons with piggy faces on them. I also laid some down in the hay. I painted two sticks red and hung a Happy Birthday Banner I also put a hay bale underneath and put all my daughters presents underneath, She later sat their to open her presents. I brought plain brown paper bags from for the goody bags and painted pigs, cows, horses, sheep on them, I also put googly eyes on all the animals. In the goody bags I put coloring books I made for all the children, crayons, cowgirl/cowboy magnet holder I pre-made for each child ( I had a parent take each child's picture with an I-zone camera and we put them on the magnets), an animal mask (the kids all put on masks and had a play time, they chased each other around and made animal  noises), pencil, animal erasers, animal stamps(everything in the goody bag was related to the theme). When the children arrived they had an activity to do with their mom, they made hand puppets out of paperbags. Then later on they hand-painted horses with their dads. Everyone was surprised at how creative they were. For the main entertainment I had a petting zoo and pony rides. We had a pony, pig, baby goat, baby rabbits and a sheep. They were all a big hit. I handed out cowboy hats to all the children to have pony rides. they even got to walk the pig. We had a barbecue, chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, spare ribs, potato salad, baked ziti, sausage, pork & rice, salad corn on the cob, watermelon, strawberries. We had someone make the cake, they put farm animal cutouts all around with a pond it was creative. When everyone arrived we stamped their hands so they could have a pony ride or visit the petting zoo, kids love getting stamps. We also had the dads give the kids wheelbarrow rides, they were a huge hit! I put hay in a wheelbarrow and had it in between the barn and piggy coral. Everyone had a great time. I do not know who had more fun the adults or the children. It was a fun interactive party.  The kids had a blast. I had a lot of fun planning this party. I can't wait to do it again.
