YEE-HAA Barnyard Bash was the theme for my daughters 1st birthday.
(this also works for john deere/farm/hoedown themes) Since she was such a fan of papas tractor and bok boks(chickens) this seemed more fun than the princess party I was so anxious to have. For INVITATIONS I went with the Oriental Trading Co YEE HAA farm party invitations. DECORATIONS started with the scenery. The party was held at my moms, since she has a big shop/barn, several acres and a huge back patio. I started with square bales of hay from the local feed store. I placed several of them around the edges of the porch for both decor and fun seating, 1 was on the front porch where I placed a pink bandana and a cowboy hat to welcome the guests, and another was strung out around the porch and yard to give that barn feeling. I also got inflatable farm animals from OTC and placed them around the bales of hay. I used sidewalk chalk to write phrases from old mac donald around the patio. I got pink balloons and cow print balloons and hung them inside. In the bathrooms I took PUFFS containers(gerber snacks) and peeled the labels off (they look exactly like milk jugs). I placed a cow print bandana on the counter and set a milk jug" on top and one gerber daisy inside. I also used the yee haa door banner at the front porch. I found little toy barns at Target and placed those on the table as well. The GRUB was outside on a long picnic table with a pink tablecloth. There were cowprint cups and the yee haa(OTC)cups with pink napkins and plates. Chips were in upsidedown cowboy hats lined with pink or cowprint bandanas. There were mini sandwiches and I had two little galvanized buckets my dad carved a truck out of a watermelon that we filled with fruit. We had coolers with frozen popsicles and pops and ice. Also to drink nothing but lemonade and ice tea. We had cupcakes with little toy john deeres on top and mini bonne bell ice creams. ACTIVITIES were just play at your own pace and started with sidewalk chalk and bubbles on the back patio and plastic horseshoes. Inside I had farm coloring pages and little farm cardboard puzzles and books. We had the john deere (riding mower) out with the little trailer filled with hay and a couple of the blow up animals and papa took turns giving hay rides. Two games included a duck pond (available online) and a bean bag toss game (yee haa from OTC) For favors I took pink bandanas and cowprint bandanas and filled them with animal stickers stamp and pencil a mini harmonica and mini windmill along with assorted candy all tied up with twine. I also let each child select an inflatable farm animal to take with them. "
