Pig Party - Teenagers love this idea, but it would work well for any age. Invite guests to the party, and ask them to wear something pink.
As each guest arrives they are given a "pig nose" to wear. These can be purchased or homemade (egg carton section, pink paint, elastic). Two game ideas (depending on the size of the group) Large Group: Throw a bunch of wrapped candy and other goodies randomly on your yard. Divide guests in to teams of even sizes. Each group is given a slip of paper with an animal written on it (pig, cow, duck, dog, etc). Each team chooses one person to be the leader. The leader is given a sack or basket. The idea is for each team to locate as much "loot" as possible. The leader is the only one allowed to pick up the candy, but may not pick up any thing until another member of the team has found it. Here's the funniest part. When a team member locates some candy, they begin to make their animal noise. The leader has to listen closely to hear his team calling him. He can then run to them and pick up the candy. This works really well for adults/older children. Smaller Group: Group must have an even number of players. Give each player a slip of paper with an animal written on it. Do two of each animal, so that every animal you have written down, two people will have the same one. (You could do 3 of one if the group is uneven). When you say "Go" everyone begins making their animal noise. They have to find their partner -only by listening for their sound- they quickly grab hands and sit down. Last pair down looses. This is fun to play over and over. A variation of "Fruit Basket" with animals instead of fruit would be fun too. For dinner, make a big batch of spaghetti and dump it on to a large plastic (disposable) table cloth that you put on the lawn. Everyone sits around the "table" an is served a portion of spaghetti (by you) from the center. They then eat without any utensils. You could also use utensils, or something weird like spatulas, chopsticks etc. Dessert: We had a huge ice cream sundae that was made in a pig trough (very clean) that was lined with foil. We each grabbed a spoon and dug right in. This was a high-school graduation party, and we had so much fun!
