Tampa Yankees Baseball Party
We booked our 6 year old son's birthday party at Legends Field in Tampa, Florida...Spring Training Camp for the New York Yankees and home of the Tampa Yankees. We were greeted by their party coordinator and our son received a baseball signed by all of the Yankees. Then each person received a Jason Giambi bobblehead doll since he happened to be playing that night. We were provided with a private room for an hour where we had hot dogs, chips and soda, cake and the kids received their Yankee Goodie Bags - or in this case lunch boxes. They were provided by the Yankees and were 100th Anniversary edition lunch boxes with all sorts of Yankees goodies in them...baseball cards, commerative coins and pins, a flip movie book of Roger Maris' 61st homerun which all the kids flipped through repeatedly, a CD holder, pencil, comic book and too much else to remember. After the kids finished eating and playing with their lunch boxes it was time to go to our front row seats on top of the Yankees dugout!! Then our son was escorted onto the field to throw out the first pitch of the game while his name flashed on the scoreboard. What a thrill for a six year old boy to shake the catcher's hand and keep the ball as a momento. We all had a great time watching the ball game and it was soooo much better than going to one of those video arcade places for an hour or two. The cost was comparable as well.
