Our John has been interested in baseball for some time now. We decided to have a baseball related theme. Invitations weren't necessary but all the plates, napkins and cups were
printed with gloves and balls.
I found a pennant banner which was hung outside near the table. The balloons were a mix of Mylar baseballs and colored balloons that matched. Our menu consisted of sandwiches and cheese balls. The baloney & cheese were made on wheat bread and cut out with a baseball bat cookie cutter. The peanut butter & jelly were made on white bread and cut round like baseballs. At each place setting were white cupcakes with red lacing and brown paper bags with roasted peanuts. I found toothpicks with Redsox pennants to use in the sandwiches. We played an organized game of baseball and had lots of fun. The cake was topped with a picture of my son playing baseball. There were 12 boys all very well behaved and happy. I filled goodie bags with baseball pencils, erasers and pads of paper. There were baseball cards, candy and lots of other little things they love. As always, we rented a moonwalk to take up the other long spaces when you hear the words, "Mom, I'm bored, there's nothing to do". We call the moonwalk the instant babysitter. Another successful day!!
