For my son's 1st birthday I did a Blue's Clues theme. I got all the Blue's Clues themed plates, napkins, cups, hats, and tablecloths for the kids and I bought dark blue plates and cups
for the parents. I found Blue's Clues decorations at a local party store (banner, wall hangings, centerpieces, mylar balloons).
I put dark and light blue latex balloons on the back of the chairs at the kiddy table which had a blue clues tablecloth and the Blue's clues centerpiece. I put blue and turquoise streamers down the middle of the parent tables which had the plain blue tablecloths. I drew mailbox, like the one in the show, on posterboard and hung him by the present table. The kids played pin the paw on blue, which I had made out of posterboard. And the kids also played musical chairs. The kids wanted to play this twice. - For the music I played the soundtrack for "Blue's Big Musical Movie". For the game prizes I had a handy-dandy notebook, colors, slinkys, yo-yo's, stickers, and toy cars. I had someone make the cake for me. It was half-chocolate and half-yellow. With white icing and Blue and Tickety-Tock on top and it said "It's time for (birthday boy/girl)'s 1st birthday". The birthday boy had a little cake to himself and I made chocolate cupcakes with blue icing for the kids. And we drank punch and blue Kool-Aid. I had also set some chips out in blue dog bowls. I bought an inflatable thinking chair for the birthday boy to sit in when he opened his presents. Behind that was a drawing of Steve's house, which I had made, and some Blue's Clues mylar balloons and the Blue's Clues wall hangings of Blue, Periwinkle, and Tickety-Tock. I made nametags for all the kids. I cut dog bones out of blue construction paper and put blue dots on them. Each child got a Blue's Clues goodie bag filled with Blue Clues fruit roll-ups, blue popsicles, Blue's clue's blowout, play-dough, sunglasses and candy. The party lasted exactly an hour and a half. The kids had a lot of fun, along with the adults. The place was decorated very cute and all the hard work was worth it to see the birthday boy smiling and having a great time with friends and family.
