Blues Clues Party For my daughter's fourth birthday, we had a Blues Clues theme. This was a very labor intensive party to prepare, but well worth it.  Her birthday is in August, so we had it outdoors on our lawn, but the party could be modified for indoors. The yard was decorated with balloons and streamers, including a large Mylar "Blue" balloon.  We also had an inflatable thinking chair set up. Once all the guests arrived, it was time to play Blues Clues.  I had prepared a separate Blues Clues game for each guest, complete with pawprints bearing their initials. I cut the pawprints out of construction paper (different colors to help the children identify their clues).  I made 15 clues for each child, but only three of them were "real." Each of the real clues had a section of a picture and when they were placed together in the right order (like a puzzle) they revealed the answer to Blues Clues, which was the location where the child could find their goody bag.  For example, one of the goody bags was hidden by the clothesline, so I put three of the pawprints next to each other (slightly overlapping) and drew a clothesline.  There was a different picture/location for each child. On the other side of each pawprint, I wrote the child's initials.  I also wrote their initials on the fake clues.  After that was done, I covered all the clues with clear contact paper so they wouldn't get torn. For the actual game, the children had to go to three different activities to find their clues.  One "real clue" and four "fake clues" for each child were planted at each activity.  The first activity was a wading pool that I put about two inches of water in and then floated the clues in it. The children had to sift through the floating clues and find the ones with their initials, and then find the one of those that was real. Then they went to the balloon clues. I had five balloons blown up for each child, and each balloon contained a clue.  They had to pop their balloons one by one until they found the real clue.  The grand finale was the treasure hunt for their final clues.  I threw candy and clues all over one part of the yard and gave the kids each a little plastic bag. They searched through the clues, gathering candy along the way, until they found their last real clue. Then, one by one, with their clues in hand, they had to sit in the thinking chair (where I took a Polaroid of them) and figure out where they needed to look to find their goody bag.  The goody bags were personalized (name painted on them with paint pen) large plastic cups filled with Blues Clues goodies from Wal Mart.  You could also personalize a plastic shovel and pail instead.  After everyone had found their goody bags, we all had cake and ice cream. It was a great party, and the guests ranged in age from 2 to 10...so it's something that could be done for any age group.
