For my second daughter's third birthday we had a Blue's Clues birthday. I made the invitations on the computer with 3 "clues" on the front, her picture, a birthday cake graphic and
the number three, and asking the question, "Can you figure out Blue's Clues?" I took a paw print stamp and blue inkpad and stamped the paw prints on the pictures. Then on the inside
of the invitation, "You just figured out Blue's Clues!" with all detailed information. Party day fun: I made a blue Blue's clues cake and also a paw print (8 inch cake and 4
cupcakes)and blue Kool-Aid, decorated the house with blue everywhere (balloons, crepe paper, tablecloths, paper products, except got blue's clues napkins), centerpieces were a red pail with
the yellow shovel and I drew the faces on each and filled with munchies like goldfish and cheese puffs and played a Blue's Clue's CD the whole party. Upon entering the party, my 9 and
11-year-old helpers drew blue paw prints on each child's cheek (a great ice breaker and gave mom's a chance to leave). For games, we played musical paw prints (I took light blue construction
paper and cut out paw prints from dark blue construction paper and glued them on and laminated them) then whoever "got out" got to sit in the inflatable thinking chair and help with
the music. We also played "Toss the clue in Blue". For this game, I got a medium sized blue tub with a handle and took paint pens and drew Blue's face on the front; then I
made dog ears and laminated them and taped them on the side with clear packing tape so the ears stuck out of the "head". I bought beanbags and drew a clue on each one and the kids
tried to put the clue in Blue. When opening presents, my daughter got to sit in the inflatable thinking chair and whomever present she was opening got to sit next to her and they got their
picture taken. Party favors were red pails and yellow shovels painted with the faces of Shovel and Pail and filled with goodies: ring pops, paw print pencils, whistles, lollipops, Blue's
Clue's gummy treats and my favorite, a candy bar with a personalized wrapper that I made on the computer. For thank you notes, I did the same thing as the invitations, only the clues were a
picture of my daughter, the words "Thank You", and a present graphic. A lot of work but well worth it!
