Bob the Builder Party! (for a 5 year old) For the Invitations: I used tape measures. I covered the outside label with yellow and a picture of Bob.
Then I opened the tape and (using double-stick tape and computer print-outs) placed the party invitation directly on the tape - so it read in one big, long line - "Can we party? Yes we can! You're invited to ...blah blah blah." Then, when the tape was rewound, I placed little tags (like for garage sale items) on the end of the tape that read "Pull me." They were a hit! We always do a pinata (or two - since we typically have 35 kids)and instead of giving them baggies for their treats, we got tool aprons from the local lumber yard and tied them around each child's waist! Also, I give the treat bags out at the beginning of each party - these bags (which are like presents themselves!) had hard hats in them - imagine how cute all these kids looked with hard hats and aprons! I try to keep the theme in the bags and food too! Put BobTB fruit snacks and play tools in the bags. I buy white small shopping bags (with handles) and find clipart of that character on the internet. The Bob bags said "To My Building Buddy" had a picture of Bob and then the child's name underneath the pic. And I always put a ruffle of tissue paper in the top. The best part was the building activity. My dad's name is Bob and he's a builder so AHHA! Bob the Builder! He cut and pre-drilled do-it-yourself birdhouses for each child. I had each parent bring a screwdriver or drill and the children assembled their birdhouses - and were given bags of birdseed! It was the best! This year, Saturday actually, we're doing Spongebob! Bob has a costume for this too - thanks to the internet!
