My oldest son is turning 3 in June and loves Bob the Builder on Nick, Jr. So we have decided to have a "Construction Party".
My husband has access to orange construction cones and caution tape from work which will be used to decorate the front yard. We will decorate the house inside and out with yellow and black balloons. For the cake we are baking cup cakes into ice cream cones for the children. As part of the party theme they will build their own ice cream cupcake by applying icing, sprinkles, etc.. We are having a small cake decorated also in theme just big enough to feed the adults and to also allow my son to blow out the traditional candles. Party games will consist of the kids playing in the backyard on a huge playhouse made last year for my son's birthday which has a sandbox underneath for dump trucks and sand toys. Our driveway is covered by a carport which will help shield the heat to allow the kids to use sidewalk chalk to draw and interact together. I found little wooden cars and trucks at a local craft store very inexpensive that I purchased for the kids to paint. Goody bags will include: carpenter pencils, bubble gum tape measure, paint brushes, paints (like used for coloring books), cars & trucks, balloons, bubbles, play dough, . I also printed off pictures of Bob the Builder from nickjr.com website and made coloring books and gave the children a small pack of crayons. Each child will receive a hard hat when they arrive with their name on it.
