This year for my daugter's second birthday party, we decided to have it at our home. We also wanted to keep it simple and easy for the kiddos and their parents. Seeing as her birthday is in
the winter we needed a theme that could easily be accomplished indoors. We wanted to make it in the morning time so that families would have the rest of the day. We decided upon Pancakes in
Pajamas." I sent out invites that asked her friends to come and enjoy her pan"cake" while wearing their favorite pajamas. (even some parents came clad in their own pajamas) To
make her cake I stacked pancakes like a cake and decorated it the traditional way...candles and all! When the guests arrived we sang a few songs and attempted to read If You Give a Pig a
Pancake. Too much energy from the kiddos! Then we opened gifts one at a time in order to avoid chaos. The children and adults socialized some more and by 11:30 am the children were ready for
naps and the parents were thrilled. As party favors I found an easy dry ingredient recipe on line for pancakes. I made the mix filled small bags and attached a computer generated tag with
Ella's Pancake Mix on the front (including her picture) and instructions on the back. Parents left saying it was a great party and so much fun. They also enjoyed making the pancakes on the
following Saturday mornings!"
