My daughters favorite book is Pinkalicious, about a girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink, and then has to eat green food to turn back to normal.
Invitations - I just sent out pink invites. Decorations - I went to the party store and went pink crazy. Four different shades of pink for tablecloth, silverware, cups, plates, ballons and pink flowers. Cake - I made pink cupcakes and decorated them exactly like the ones in the book and put them on a cupcake stand. When guests arrived I gave them pink mardi gra beads. Activitiy - For the first activity I read them the book, later we did pink tatoos. Games - played pin the cherry on the cupcake (design of cupcake in book on posterboard and cut out red cherries for each of the kids), guess the number of pink M and M's in the jar (it was breast cancer awareness month and they were selling pink M and M's), and I made a pinata shaped like the cupcake. Food - I took white cheddar mac and cheese and added hot pink food coloring (it was insane and kids loved it), watermelon, pink jello, and pink lemonade or strawberry milk. Costumes - I turned" the kids pink by placing pink cellophane over all of the mirrors. My daughter had pigtails that I sprayed with pink hairspray - just like the "pinktails" in the book. Favors - I handed out pink mardi gra beads when they arrived and set the table with pink bags of pink party favors. Before the kids left I set out a platter of green food so they could turn back normal. It was a blast and I don't even like the color pink. "
