For my Son's First birthday, We are having a Storybook Party. There are about 90 people on the guest list, so we decided to ask each family to bring a storybook instead of toys. Not only
will this prevent us from getting over loaded with toys, it will eliminate financial pressure to some of our family members that only have a few dollars to spend(Thank you lord for
scholastic). Only twelve of our 90 guests are children, so I am sending seperate invatiations the the children. For the children's invitations, I wrote a story called Prince Isaac's Birthday.
The Book is eight pages long, with pictures, and a soft cover. The story includes all the information for the party, as well as a request that all the children dress up as thier favorite storybook character. I am hoping that by leaving the dress up instructions wide open that the parents of the children won't feel any finacial pressure to go out and buy new costumes for the party since all characters, animals, ext. have been in a book at some point. I wanted to make sure that last year's Halloween costume would work just fine. So far everyone I have talked to said that that is what thier child will be wearing. The cake will be Isaac's Castle. It will be made with several layers of cakes and will be 3-D. I am using a refigerator box to create Isaac's throne. I will cut the box into a throne shape with three sides and spray paint it gold and silver. This will surround Isaac's Highchair. Isaac's Highchair Throne is the Main Decoration for the party. It will serve as a fun conversation piece for the adults, and only costs a few dollars to make! Each child will go home with a story book of their own for the favors, which I purchased from scholastic for only 1 dollar each. Activities include: a bubble station a coloring station where each child will color a story book featuring him or herself which I am making on my computer. There is a play ground for the children to play on and a royal photo booth where each child will receive photos of themselves via my computer and printer.
