My daughter wanted a bowling party for her 9th birthday...this was a challenge since how can you make a bowling party fun and interesting...normally we always have parties at home so I can be
more creative..
FOR THE INVITE: I cut out of white construction paper a bowling pin and made black and red lines on it on the front it read: Please SPARE an afternoon and SPLIT to a party as we celebrate the Queen Pin GABRIELLA will be turning 9. So in your spare time, come to .... Don't be a sleeper, say you'll be a TURKEY and be there. Call .....to RSVP by NOVEMBER 7th. They were hand delivered to her friends with a red and black balloon with streamers. I made my own t-shirts. I purchased inexpensive white t-shirts at a craft store and on the computer created an iron on transfer for the back of the shirt w/ bowling pins singing. It read Gabriella's Pin Pals Team" and listed all 14 children in attendance names on the back of the shirts. On the front of the shirt near the right pocket I scanned a ball striking pins and under it put the name of each child..For the birthday girl each guest put on their t-shirt over their shirt and they looked like a real bowling team. It also was a great way to get to know everyone's name. The parents and kids loved the idea. They still are wearing the t-shirts.. At the bowling alley we were able to rent out a room that was decorated with bowling alley table cloths paper plates and cups. We also got black red white and brown balloons to place all over the room and created an arch with balloons as well. The bowling alley provided us with a real bowling pin for all the guests to autograph. The kids loved that!! and my daughter had a keepsake from the day. We set up 4 lanes/ 4 teams that the kids drew their team number out of a bowl and off they went.. they had a blast.. after bowling they went back to the decorated room and were served pizza chicken fingers fries and drinks provided by the bowling center. I found at Walmart in my area a great bowling cake.. it had a bowling lane with and bowling pins and ball... we wrote Happy Birthday Queen Pin Gabriella.. the guests loved it.. At the end of the cake I had 1st place medals made up from Oriental Trading for each first place winner from each team/lane.. it read.. I bowled everyone away at Gabriella's birthday party and the date.. and for the "loser" I was able to find a small bowling pins/ball magnetic set for them to "keep practicing"... For guests goodie bags I purchased from Oriental Trading Gold Trophies.. inside them I put gumballs pixie sticks and other treats. On the trophy I printed up labels that read Thank you for making my birthday party a STRIKE!! GABRIELLA'S 9TH BIRTHDAY. Each one was wrapped and 3 balloons were attached in red white and black. The children had so much fun that most of them stayed for an additional game of bowling and fun. Hope this gives you some ideas for your child's birthday.. it was fun and easy to do.. no clean up... "
