For my daughter's 5th Birthday, she wanted a Bowling Party.  We reserved a couple of lanes at a local bowling alley with bumpers for the kids.  I was excited about not having it at my house and the lack of "mess" that it would be, but I still wanted to make it "special" and give it a little bit of a homemade touch.  The bowling alley had birthday packages, so for one price, it included all party goods, food (hot dog & fries), drink & even an authentic bowling pin (for each child to sign for the birthday girl!) along with an attendant to help with the kids. I ordered little 6 inch bowling trophies and had each one engraved with the saying, "I bowled everyone away at Emily's 5th Birthday!".  They came out really cute,  I just ordered the generic bowling figurine (bowling ball, pin & shoes) for the top to avoid boy/girl problems. This party was great to have for both boys & girls which made it easy to invite all of the different kids from school. Beside the trophies, each child took home a magnetic picture frame with a Polaroid of themselves bowling (which my husband took of each child).  To make the frames, I used stiffened black felt cut in the shape of a bowling ball with gold rick rack trim around the center of the hole for the picture. I had found these cute wooden circles, that had bowling pins & a bowling ball painted on them at my local craft store.  I glued them on the bowling ball frames as well. They came out really cute and are on everyone's refrigerators as a memento of the party. Since my daughter is a Power Puff Girl fan, I used that as the theme for cute little party bags filled with some candy and stickers. The cake was made at our local supermarket.  They did a wonderful job of airbrushing a bowling lane and then it was topped off with Power Puff Girl figurines and bowling ball & pin candles which were set to look as if they were bowling.  It turned out to be a delightful party for everyone and a nice stress-free (as much as it can be anyway) day!!!!!!!!!!!
