Fashion Design-6years Our daughter wanted a Bratz birthday party and we started planning different creative activities that boys and girls could enjoy. The invitations were made in our
computer. It had our daughter photograph (all dressed up with a hat, sunglasses, etc) inviting all the designers to the Fashion Design and Spa Club (our neighborhood's clubhouse). We
gave each kid the name of a famous designer such as "Gabriel Armani" (our son), "Andrea Claiborne", "Anais Ruiz de la Prada", "Javier Tous",etc. When
the confirmation email was sent, everyone responded in a very creative way using their designer name. So, the mood was set from the beginning! The guests arrived and they were labeled
with their designer name. The first activity was to design a shirt using paint and fabric markers. We even had onesies for our nieces (2, 4 and 10 months old) and everyone enjoyed this
activity. The idea was to wear the shirts for the fashion show that we were having later. The second activity was to make necklaces and bracelets using different kind of beads and their
initials. For the babies we had "fashion bibs"
with curious messages such as " fashion girl", "girl with an attitude", etc. And the hit of the night was the Beauty Salon and Spa. I asked one of my co-workers , who loves to comb little girls and paint her nails, etc, to do that on our daughter's birthday. She did it so professionally that the guests were asking me "where is her salon?". She brought her son, Fernando to assist her with the boys while she took care of the girls. To make the Salon and Spa Experience higienic, I prepared each kid a " kit" with hairbrush, hair gel, nail polish, lip gloss, etc. We also had spray paint for the hair, body glitter, high heel shoes, sunglasses, accesories, You name it!! We had a sign listing the different services the Salon and Spa provided and each kid decided if they wanted make up, hair style, manicure, pedicure, etc. It was fantastic!!! And the last activity was the fashion show!! The super models showed their shirts, necklaces, and fabulous hair, nails, accesories, etc. The boys also had a great time. They made their shirts, necklaces and had a hair style as well. They were invited to participate in the fashion show but preferred to be part of the public. The birthday cake was made out of cupcakes, so we skipped all the" cutting the cake mess". We had pizza for the kids and rice, hickory ham, chicken and salad for the adults. We had the best birthday!
