balloons and streamers in color scheme. activities: as kids arrived they made Froot Loop necklaces on white ribbons. It was a morning party and we went ahead and ate the pancakes early
in the party.
I made large pancakes so the kids could decorate them.... sprinkles, syrup and thinned raspberry jelly in squeeze bottles, diced strawberries, blueberries, Redi-whip... I stacked them all together and used that as the cake for blowing out candles then just put a pancake on each child's plate. I had a tray of the toppings and the parents just passed them around the table. The kids had a good time dressing their pancakses with all of the goodies and I was surprised at how many wanted the fruit! After that, we played butter the pancake' which was just like pin the tail on the donkey but I drew a large stack of pancakes on a pink plate on a poster board and cut out yellow construction paper squares for the little pats of butter. Afterwards we read a Curious George book about pancakes and this was later their party favor with a little bag of raisins fruit chews etc. I had brunch food for the moms... cheese grits ham biscuits cut up fruit coffee juice etc. It was simple but sweet."
