Birthday Breakfast
Instead of the traditional day-party we opted for a breakfast party to celebrate my daughter's 4th birthday. Our invitation cards were printed with kids in their pj's that said "Birthday Breakfast for Grace" and gave details. The guests arrived at 9:00 a.m. and were asked to come in their pajamas. We gave our daughter a special tiara and she wore her feather slippers and fancy night gown. We served breakfast banana splits (different colored flavored yogurts scooped on top of a split banana topped with granola (nuts) and whipped creme and a cherry). The cake was a large cinnamon roll for each child topped with a candle. After "Happy Birthday" they all blew them out together. For games we strung Fruit Loop necklaces and then after gifts all the kids got to get in sleeping bags to watch one pretaped "Saturday cartoon". For favors we gave hand stamped pillowcases (one themed for girls and another for boys) for each child filled with balloons and tied shut with ribbon and a toothbrush and bedtime stickers. Kids are at their best in the morning and loved coming in their pjs.
