Bug Party 5 yr. old: On my sons 5th birthday we made him a green sheet cake with gummi worms and creepy crawly plastic bugs all over around the Happy Birthday sign. We served ants on a log (celery with peanut butter spread inside and raisins on the peanut butter) and "Bug Slime"  with was in a large punch bowl, 2 cans of limeade, fill up the limeade can 4 times with water, 5-7 cans of grapefruit soda (or try sprite or 7-up), and rainbow sherbet, with 4 trays of ice cubes with bug gummy fruit snacks frozen inside the ice cubes all mixed up.  Looks grayish and foamy and tastes GREAT!! All the kids loved it!!  We had balloons for decorations that looked like bees: use yellow balloons, 2 for each bee and make the top balloon smaller than the bottom balloon, then rubber cement the round ends together, let set.  Draw a face on the smaller balloon with a black permanent marker, and with black streamer, glue black stripes on the body, then take a black pipe cleaner and fold it in half and tape to top of head to make antennae.  For wings use yellow tissue paper bunched up and glue to back.   We also had a Bee Hive piņata and hung paper bees from the bottom of it.  We had 2 games: The first one was "How many bugs in a jar?"  We got a bug catching kit at the dollar store, you can make your own with a jar just drill holes in the top, get a small magnifying glass, a small notepad with pen, plastic tweezers, and a net. We got lucky and found everything together at the dollar store!! Then we filled it with gummy worms and bug gummies, and everyone had a piece of paper (some of the kids were 2-4 so we had the parents help the kids)m and guessed how many bugs in a jar, the winner received the bug catching kit with all the candy. The second game we played was "Pin the face on the bee" we found pictures on the computer and printed them out, you can also try "pin the antennae on the ant"  or similar titles.  My son got to dress up like a bug and we thought about getting bug masks for all the kids but couldn't find anything like that, we could have made our own but just didn't plan enough ahead. I hope this helps a lot!!
