My two year old daughter loved bees so we decided to have a bee party. We started with making our invitations at the scrapbook store on black paper with white dots. We put a bee hive with a bee coming out saying "Please bee our guest..."  I decorated black plastic tablecloths with white sticker dots to match the invitations. I cut large daisy petals from poster board with yellow centers and purchased a Mylar bee balloon to fly above them for the center piece. I purchased yellow paper cups and put black electricians tape around them like bees. I purchased headbands at the dollar store and covered them with black bias tape.  I wound black pipe cleaner around a pencil to make it curly and then attached it to the headband with hot-glued yellow fuzzy balls on the end like antenna for each person, even the adults, who were all good sports! Because we had guests from 12 to 2, I came up with games that would challenge all. The older kids had to stand farther back to play. On the back of a cardboard box I made a daisy, honey pot and bee hive cutting holes in appropriate places.  The kids stood back and threw teeny beeny bees and ladybugs through the holes for prizes from the dollar store.  For our second game I rolled down brown lunch bags and tied raffia around them like honey pots.  I purchased yellow Ping-Pong balls and colored black stripes on them like bees.  The kids bounced the bees into the honey pots which had candy in them.  When they got one in, they got a candy out of that bag. It was a huge hit.  We had a bar-bee-cue and served beelicious dishes with craft bees on wires on the bowls. We served lemonade from a large honey pot. Each child got a bee cake of their own.  I took ho-hos and striped them with yellow frosting with licorice whip antennas and tic-tac eyes. I filled goodie bags with bee stickers, dime store bubbles with bee stickers on them, candies, yellow bubble bath and a bee sponge. They were then tied with yellow and black ribbons. When the game prizes were gone, they still wanted to play the games!
