For my 12th birthday party, I wanted to have a party for my friends and family and a sleepover for a few of my special friends. We made invitations in the shape of a butterfly out of
construction paper, but you can use felt. We had a party at a local park. I chose to do it with a butterfly theme. We decorated with butterfly balloons and a banner that said "Happy
Birthday Jennifer!". You can make the banner off your computer. We ate BBQ pork sandwiches, hotdogs, chips, cake and ice cream. The cake was shaped like a butterfly and my mom decorated
it to look like a butterfly's body and wings. My mom bought a cookie cutter shaped like a butterfly, and she cut the ice cream in that shape. The games we played there consisted of: Ha Ha Ha,
and Jungle Knots. All my friends brought their scooters, roller blades, or bicycles. There is a baseball field, and we played softball and volleyball over there. We had lots of fun, but it
wasn't over then! After most of the girls were gone, me and the rest of the girls (4 of them) left to go to my house. Since it was in May, it was warm enough to sleep outside, so we set up
our new tent in the back yard. When we got out there,
we all sat around in a circle and played charades. We played Nail Polish Hot Potato, too. Mom packed a cooler filled with soda and munchies. We played pool on our pool table and played Ping-Pong on our Ping-Pong table. After it was dark, mom gave us our flashlights that she bought for us. We went outside and had a Scavenger Hunt with our flashlights. We also played Hide-N-Go-Seek in the dark. Another game we played was Flashlight Tag. We laid in the tent talking girl talk and munching on the things in the cooler. In the morning, mom made Breakfast Pizza(croissants for the crust, mix Sausage and cheese on top) and a fruit tray. We played Roundabout Relays, and Squirt Gun Bowling(squirt plastic bottles down with the squirt gun).I think this was my favorite birthday party ever! I had so much fun, I'd like to do it over!
