My son just had a "Campout" party for his 6th birthday. I went to the local scrapbook store and made his invitations out of camping themed paper. I folded it and closed it with a
camping themed sticker. We rented out our neighborhood clubhouse, and set up a tent inside for all his friends to pretend they were camping out. We had a nature CD playing next to
the tent. First , all the kids ate hotdogs and chips, there drinks were put in canteens I bought at the dollar store. I painted each child's name on them so they didn't loose their
drink. Next, they remained seated for their arts and craft project, which was 3 Popsicle sticks glued in the shape of a triangle, which they glued acorns, leaves, and sticks to , with a
magnet on the back ...these were frames for the pictures I took of each child in the tent, and sent home with the thank you notes.
We set out popcorn and chex mix for snacking on. Next we broke the kids up into 2 groups, and had one group go over to the fireplace to make smores, the next group played "put the fire on the log" blind folded, and when they got done with that activity , they got in the tent individually for their picture. Then, we all sat on the floor and played "hot potato" with a beanie frog...we played music and when the music stopped , whoever had the frog was out... each child was told to go back to the table for cake...then we proceeded outside where we hit the frog piņata... for the goodie bags I had brown paper bags with binoculars, whistles, granola bars, and bug stickers...I folded the bags down with a camping themed sticker, and placed camping stickers all over the bag. It was quite a party!
