For my daughter's 5th birthday we decided to have a candyland party.
I rented a building and arranged the tables in stations. We had a food table decorated with black and red decorations we called this section Licorice Bites. We took contruction paper and made the candyland path to lead to each station. I even put the pink square with the character drawn on it for each place, such as a gum drop for gumdroppass and a candycane for Peppermint Forest etc. As soon as everyone arrived we had everyone eat at Licorice Bites, We had tables set up for everyone to eat on. they were decorated in different colored tables cloths with giant pieces of candy as the centerpieces. I used foam ball and cellophane to make them. We had family memebers dress up as characters and do the activity at each station. We had the Gingerbread tree station It was decorated with gingerbread men made from cardboard. I dressed up like a Ginger bread cookie I wore a brown sweatsuit and sewed rick rack and buttons for the decorations I helped the children decorate there own gingerbread cookies. Then I lead the children down the path to Peppermint Forest. It was decorated with big Christmas candy canes and fake snow. My niece, who played Mr.Mint was dressed in red pants, red and white striped shirt and socks. She helped the children play the Candyland DVD game. After the game was over she gave everyone a candycane. We followed the path to Gumdrop Pass. It was decorated with foam balls cut in half and painted with glitter paint for the gum drop mountains. My sister, dressed as Jolly wearing a blue sweatsuit stuffed with polyfil and foam balls cut in half and painted with glitter paint were glued on the back of the sweatsuit. She had a big wicker hamper filled with packaging peanuts and each child had to dig around and find a prize.
