CANDYLAND - 3year old I just finished planning my daughters CandyLand themed party. She will be 3 the end of October. The invites were the postcards downloaded from the hasbro game
site. We are using sidewalk paint to paint squares on our sidewalk and driveway to lead the guests to the back entrance of our house. In the front yard we are placing my
daughter's playhouse with a sign that says welcome to CandyLand.
We are decorating the front lawn with candy cane christmas decorations and a sign that says Mr. Minty's forest. As you walk down the driveway there will be purple balloons hanging from a tree for PLUMPY. We don't want them using the front door so I am hanging brown streamers to block the door and a sign that says don't get stuck in molasses swamp - stay on the rainbow trail. Once they enter the back door all of the rooms will be deocrated with rainbow colored streamers and enlarged images of each of the characters. Their first craft will be to make Candy necklaces or bracelets (kits from Candyfavorites.com and oriental trading). After this project is complete we will have dinner - I am making Lord Licorice strings and King Candy Gumballs with frostine's frost (Spaghetti & Meatballs with parmesean cheese). After dinner the kids will be brought into an ajacent room to decorate King Candy's Castle (gingerbread houses with all the traditional fixings as well as some spooky halloween additions). While they are decorating the houses we will clean up dinner and set up to play the CandyLand DVD - my daughter loves the Grandma Nut game. I scanned the images in and made extra mats on felt so that every child would always land on a mat. Instead of handing out gingerbread men we are handing out character appropriate candy (Lollipops if you land on Lolly, licorice, candy canes, gumballs, maryjanes etc.)For dessert I will have a QUEEN FROSTINE - Frosting station so they can frost and decorate their own cup cakes. Once dessert is over and they leave, the leave with candy, their candy necklace craft and a very cool gingerbread house for the favor.
