For our daughter's 6th birthday we gave her a Candyland party.
We rented a building so we would have enough space. We set up stations for each character of Candyland. We made the rainbow path and my wife dressed up as a gingerbread girl and led the children down the path to each station. The first station was the gingerbread grove where each child made a gingerbread magnet out of foam to take home. The next station we reached was Peppermint Forest. My niece dressed up as Mr. Mint and had the children play the Candyland DVD game. The winner of the game received a Candyland book and each child received a candy cane. We then went to Gumdrop Pass where my cousin dressed as Jolly, played a hot potato game using a gummy stress ball. The winner of that game received a small candyland markerboard and each child received a small bag of gummies. We then went to Peanut Acres where my mother-in law dressed as Grandma Nutt. Had a wicker basket filled with peanuts and trinkets, each child had to close their eyes and pick out a trinket to keep. We continued down the trail to Lollipop Woods where we read a candyland story. My daughter who the Party was for, dressed as Princess Lolly. At the end of the story every child received a giant lollipop. Then we moved on the Snowflake Lake, where my other niece dressed as Princess Frostine had each child decorated their own cupcake with different types of candy. We moved on to Chocolate Swamp where my sister-in-law was dressed as gloppy. She passed out all of the gifts to my daughter. After the gifts were finished she gave out a full size Hershey bar to each child. Than we moved the end of the trail, to Candy Castle. I dressed as King Candy and gave the children their special treat bags full of candy . Along the trail there were 3 squares with licorice on them. Where my father-in-law dressed as Lord Licorice would come running out of another room and scare the children. They loved it!! We had a table set up with food which we called Licorice Bites. We decorated it with red and black to look like licorice. We also decorated the tables where people ate with different colored tables cloths and giant pieces of candy for centerpieces. We used fake and real candy to decorate everything. The children had a blast and so did the adults.
