For my daughter's third birthday we had a Carnival, complete with games, prizes, a train & a 12 foot inflatable slide. When the guests arrived, they each received a popcorn box with a
ribbon for a handle. In the box, there were 20 tickets. The kids went around and played games that were set up in the driveway. Each game was a ticket. (This insured that all of the kids
would at least get 20 prizes.) Fishing game: someone sat behind a table on its side covered with a blue sheet and the kids cast their pole over the side to win a prize. Bean bag toss: my dad
painted and cut-out a sheet of plywood with picture of Scooby Doo that my daughter had picked out. He attached velcro to it, and the kids tossed their bean bags. If they stuck, they won.
There was also the ring toss. I just used some glass bottles that were empty and small rings.
Finally, there was the duck pond. The kids just picked up a duck with a number on the bottom (they all had numbers) and won a prize. We used an inflatable pool with bath tub ducks! (The kids played until they won.) My sister was in charge of face painting. We just brought out a bar stool and a mirror along with the facepaints. I rented the Boogie Woogie Choo Choo, a train that actually took the kids up and down the street. Each car would hold 3 kids or even 2 adults! That was definitely the hit of the party. The slide was a spider slide; it had two places to slide and two places to climb. Everyone had something they enjoyed. Carnival food included popcorn, LemonChills, nachos & hot dogs. Ice chests were available with bottled water, juice boxes, and soft drinks for the adults. The cake had a replica of the train on it. It was a blast and the entire neighborhood enjoyed it. The party favors were the prizes that the kids won, inexpensive toys, rings, bracelets, Frisbees, rubber balls... from a local carnival store. How am I going to top this?!
